Description from the seller
PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION
In the photo there is a magnificent and rare traditional Black Forest cuckoo clock (Black Forest cuckoo clock) very large, whose carvings refer to the motif "Fox and Grapes". This composition is inspired by the classic Aesop's fable. The clock is characterized by a rich, deep, artisanal finish: Lower part: Hand-carved figure of a fox sneaking among the grapevines. Upper part and crown: Expansive grape leaves, clusters of fruit, and a large predatory bird (eagle or hawk) with wings spread at the top. Dark dial with classic stylized Roman numerals in gold/yellow. Traditional weights in the shape of pinecones that drive the clock mechanism.
Exhibits like this are a pride of German craftsmanship from the Black Forest region. Depending on the mechanism used (most often the Regula brand), such traditional clocks require winding (pulling the weights). The clock requires maintenance and cleaning. The pinecones may be non-original.
