Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Pair of Baroque-style ventilators from the late 19th century, with a wooden core and a silvered bronze sheet, each external measurement 41.5 × 29.5 × 3 cm, condition good with original silvering partially missing and age marks; the two pieces are mirror-imaged for left and right placement.
Description from the seller
Pair of Baroque-style small fans from an estimated 19th-century period.
The fans have a wooden support with above it a repoussé and chased panel in silvered bronze.
The panel is decorated with Baroque motifs, including volutes and sprays and leaves. No mirror, but a non-original glass is present.
They are distinctive in that the bodies of the two fans are mirror images of each other, making them ideal for placing to the right and left of a furniture piece.
Generally good condition, with the original period silvering partially missing, which reveals the pleasant patina of the metal beneath. At the back there are cracks in the wood that do not affect the structure since it is held securely by the upper panel. Could be fixed with a bit of glue, but we preferred to leave them original.
External dimensions: 41.5 x 29.5 x 3 cm (approx).
Internal dimensions: 24.5 x 14.2 cm at most (irregular octagonal).
