A French-made mid-century modern lamp in brass and clear glass, dating from 1970–1980, in good used condition and in working order, 42 cm high, 20 cm wide and 20 cm deep, with a gold finish and a cream pleated shade.
Description from the seller
It is a lamp that embodies to perfection that warm, theatrical luxury typical of the Hollywood Regency of the second half of the 20th century. The piece is built around a central body of golden brass, a noble metal that here appears with a soft, slightly satin finish, designed to catch the light and reflect it with an elegant, never harsh, glow. That golden column, clean and vertical, supports a transparent block — thick glass or acrylic — which acts as a sculptural accent, a very characteristic detail of decorative design of the era, where metal and translucent materials were combined to create visual depth.
The pleated shade, so characteristic of mid-20th-century taste, provides the final note of sophistication: a warm cream tone, a classic drop, and a diffused light that envelops the room with an intimate and refined ambiance. It is the kind of shade used in interiors with cinematic inspiration, where lighting had to be soft, enveloping, and always flattering.
Together, the lamp functions as a small decorative totem: solid, elegant, with that balance between modernity and glamour that defines the Hollywood Regency style. The golden brass provides presence, the base with legs elevates the piece with an almost architectural gesture, and the shade completes the scene with a nostalgic nod to classic luxury design.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
