Dimensions of the sculpture: 14 cm in height and 14 cm in diameter.
Height with base: 27 cm
Renato Bertelli’s *Profilo continuo del Duce* is a futuristic bust of Benito Mussolini designed to be recognizable from every angle: not a static portrait, but a “continuous” head that seems to turn in space. It represents the idea of the omnipresent, vigilant and ever-observant leader, transforming a face into a symbol of power.
It was innovative because it united Futurism, Art Deco taste and an almost mechanical effect, with a simple and dynamic form that broke with the tradition of the classical bust. In short: it is a very modern sculpture for its time, iconic and provocative, which makes the Duce’s profile a total presence, almost obsessive.
