AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful, very large XXL shell Charonia Tritonis - colloquial name trumpet triton or giant triton, is a species of a very large sea snail, a mollusk of the sea from the family Charoniidae, tritons. It is one of the largest mollusks on the coral reef. The shell is thick and heavy, strongly coiled into the shape of an elongated tower. Ended sharply at the summit, gradually widens toward the aperture.
Strongly ribbed, with clear spiral ridges and knobs. The color of the shell is most often yellowish, creamy or brown with irregular, darker spots and banding. The aperture (shell opening) large, wide, oval.
The interior smooth, often orange, pink or red-brown, contrasting with the outer side of the shell. The outer lip thick, sometimes wavy, often with delicate serrations.
Features — thanks to its large size and distinctive build it has been used in many cultures as a wind instrument (shell-trumpet).
It is valued by collectors and has significance in art and ritual.
Dimensions - 145×210×405mm. I highly recommend to collectors and interior decorators.
