Peill & Putzler Alaska glass punch bowl set from West Germany, circa 1970, comprising one large covered bowl and six matching handled cups in transparent bubble glass in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Dear Bidders,
Thank you for your interest in my offer.
You are bidding here on a vintage punch bowl set by Peill & Putzler, produced in West Germany circa 1960s–1970s. The set includes a large covered punch bowl and six matching handled cups made of heavy textured clear “bubble glass”.
The organic relief surface and sculptural form are characteristic of Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design. The tactile bubble pattern strongly recalls the iconic “Ultima Thule” series by Iittala designed by Tapio Wirkkala, as well as the famous bubble glass aesthetics associated with Helena Tynell.
A highly decorative and collectible German art glass set, ideal for entertaining or as a statement display piece in vintage, Scandinavian Modern, or brutalist-inspired interiors.
