Chinese Mandarin Porcelain Jug – Late 18th / Early 19th Century
A fine Chinese Mandarin porcelain jug dating from the late 18th to the early 19th century, Qing Dynasty.
Beautifully decorated in the Famille Rose palette with finely painted courtly figures, floral panels, and elaborate ornamental borders, characteristic of Chinese export porcelain produced for the European market. The elegant shape, featuring a moulded handle and shaped spout, reflects the refined craftsmanship of the period.
The decoration remains attractive and vibrant, displaying the rich colours and detailed narrative scenes highly sought after by collectors of Mandarin porcelain.
Condition: The jug has an old restoration to the handle, clearly visible in the photographs. This historic repair forms part of the object's long history and authenticity. General wear and minor firing imperfections consistent with age and use.
