Description from the seller

Superb oval old cocotte model “Doufeu” from the Cousances brand, historical high-end later taken over by Le Creuset.

This emblematic model from the 1960s/1970s features the famous “Doufeu” technology, a Cousances innovation allowing gentle and flavorful cooking. Its hollow lid is designed to receive ice cubes or cold water to create natural internal condensation during cooking. This process helps preserve the tenderness of the food while developing its flavors.

Very beautiful orange color with a typical vintage Cousances/Le Creuset gradient finish.
Inner enamel is cream-colored.

The lid as well as the pot bear the Cousances mark with the number 6.

Overall condition:
- very nice overall presentation;
- exterior enamel still bright;
- interior clean;
- a few chips and signs of wear visible in the bottom of the pot;
- a few small chips also present on the rim and the handles of the lid;
- flaws remaining consistent with the age and normal use of this antique piece.

Dimensions:
Length with handles: 32.5 cm
Width: 20 cm
Height: 15 cm
Weight: 5 kg

Compatible with all heat sources, including induction.
This antique cocotte will appeal as much to collectors of vintage Cousances/Le Creuset pieces as to lovers of traditional cooking and slow cooking.

Authentic, old piece that has become hard to find, with its original specific lid.
Extremely careful and protective shipping.
Best regards.
