Description from the seller
THE WORK:
Title: architecture and perspective.
Year: 2006
Technique: Oil / Panel.
Dimensions: 140 W x 35 H x 3 D cm
Signature: Signed by the artist in the lower right corner.
COMMENTARY:
This painting presents an imaginary landscape that pays homage to architecture and perspective as fundamental tools for understanding and inhabiting space. The scene is built around a garden suspended in a desert setting at dusk, where symmetry imposes an almost ritual order. Classical-inspired sculptures flank the entrance, reinforcing a balanced composition that guides the eye toward the horizon. Two rows of cypress trees act as natural columns that recede, suggesting depth and continuity. In the center, a circular structure rises from the water, evoking a classical temple that introduces an atmosphere of contemplation. This work marks the beginning of a period in which the artist explores elements of the classical tradition, de-contextualizing them to give them new meanings and place them in landscapes that oscillate between the real and the dreamlike.
The work is in good condition. Contains a stained bead moulding frame.
Includes a certificate of authenticity with a photograph of the piece, dated and hand-signed by the artist.
Shipping is done with the artwork mounted on its original stretcher and properly protected.
