PAIR OF SUGAR-SIFTING SPOONS IN SOLID SILVER
Era: Late 19th century – Early 20th century (Art Nouveau period & Louis XV style)
Origin: France
Material: Solid silver (Minerva head 1st title mark - .950) to be verified
Description of the lot:
Two serving spoons (sugar sifting spoons) with remarkable silversmithing work.
1. Art Nouveau model (Left):
• Spoon bowl: Circular, adorned with a decorative repertoire in organic style. Superb piercing work radiating with flames or stylized foliage motifs.
• Handle: Guilloché wave-pattern decoration on the spatula, offering a textured and elegant grip.
2. Shell & Fillets model (Right):
• Spoon bowl: Shaped as a stylized shell, richly pierced with clover and floral stem motifs. Fine chasing work on the festooned edges.
• Handle: Fillet and violin-shaped contours, typical of classic French elegance.
Condition:
• Very good overall condition.
• Presence of his title marks (Minerva) and silversmith marks in lozenges (to be identified precisely).
• Light signs of use appropriate for the period, attractive original patina.
