Description from the seller

Pair of large lidded vases in Sèvres style with 'Bleu Céleste' and hand-painted floral cannelures - France
An exceptional decorative pair of French porcelain lidded vases (urns) in the lavish Louis XV style, produced in the second half of the 19th century
.The vases stand out for their dynamic, spirally twisted body (wrythen body). The bands are alternately decorated with the famous bleu céleste (turquoise) and hand-painted floral garlands in a refined purple palette (and camaïeu pourpre). Centrally is a molded relief cartouche applied in the form of a striped garland. The vases rest on a fluted shaft and a sleek, square plinth with geometric gold decoration. The lids repeat the spiral pattern and are crowned with a porcelain flower knob. The underside bears the blue apocryphal (pseudo) Sèvres mark with the letter 'K'. The vases are mounted via the characteristic 19th-century central iron screw-thread connection.
Dimensions:
Height: 38 cm incl. lid
Base: 10 x 10 cm

Condition:
In very good, authentic condition.
The porcelain is free of chips, hairlines or restorations. The original patinated brass neck mounting ring is loose due to dried-out 19th-century mounting putty (no porcelain damage, see detail photo). The gilding shows light, atmospheric wear consistent with age.
Shipping:
Professional, shock-resistant packaging with double-thick cardboard boxes and padding. Worldwide, registered and insured shipping via PostNL or DHL.
For the Netherlands, collection preferred.
