The subject is Sir Charles Spencer Chaplin (London, April 16, 1889 – Vevey, December 25, 1977) who was one of the greatest directors, actors and composers in the history of world cinema. Through his famous alter ego, Charlot the Tramp (The Tramp), he revolutionized the era of silent cinema by blending physical gags with a profound social critique.
