Oval silvered metal jewellery box with red fabric lining, dating from circa 1900, Italian-made and in good used condition with minor signs of age; features a repoussé and chased lid with a narrative horse-drawn carriage scene and a key-operated lock, weighs about 1 kg and measures 8 cm high by 20 cm wide by 14 cm deep.

Refined oval metal, gilded and repoussé and chased jewelry box, late 19th – early 20th century, Italian production.
Suggestive, beautiful in form and appearance, made in silvered metal, it is richly worked with repoussé and chasing.
Magnificent the lid which features a vivid narrative scene in relief depicting a carriage drawn by two galloping horses, guided by a male figure, while three female figures on foot animate the composition further against a background of urban architectures.
The edge is elegantly decorated with vegetal motifs meticulously executed, of notable charm and appeal.
The body is finely adorned with acanthus-like volutes and continuous floral motifs; it also presents grapevine motifs executed with excellent depth. The jewelry box has an original locking system and can be locked with a key.
The delicate key is decorative. The interior lined in red fabric, with signs of use consistent with age.
The box is supported by 4 elegant circular metal feet.
