Description from the seller
Majestic work by the master of Italian genre painting from the late 1800s, attributed to Odoardo Toscani.
Masterfully executed in oil on panel, depicting the stunning hills of Monferrato with the village of Mombaruzzo in the background, which gives the work its title.
Dedicated or commissioned by the so-called Dr. Delzanno - Gaudio.
Title and dedication visible on the back of the artwork.
Coming from the collection of Dr. Boa, an antiquarian collector known in Padua and recently departed.
A piece that we as a company have managed to acquire, together with a substantial quantity of other works of quality, directly from the heirs of the same.
Works by the same author to which the painting is attributed, in obviously smaller sizes, have achieved excellent results at various international auction houses such as Sotheby’s and at other smaller houses like Wannenes, Maison Bibelot and Capitolium among others.
Signature of the author bottom right.
Very large dimensions, exceeding two meters in width.
Signs of age and wear clearly visible in the photos.
Photos are an integral part of the lottery description.
Insured and traceable shipping.
