Description from the seller
Original signed Louis Claude watercolor, depicting a spectacular polo scene in full competition. The composition stands out for the dynamism of the galloping horses and the intensity of the sporting moment, capturing the elegance and tradition of this exclusive equestrian sport.
The work preserves its original period frame and a commemorative metal plaque attached at the bottom, engraved with the inscription:
“S.H.V. – National Contest 1953 – Honor Test – Acequia Real del Júcar Prize”.
This detail adds notable historical and documentary interest, linking the piece to a horse event held in Spain in the mid-20th century.
The plaque has a silvery appearance and could be made of this metal, although it has not been tested and its composition is not guaranteed, so it is sold only as a commemorative metal plaque.
Especially attractive piece for collectors of equestrian, polo, horseracing and English-style or sports club decoration themes.
Artist: Louis Claude (signed)
Technique: watercolor on paper
Subject: polo / equestrian scene
Date: mid-20th century (plaque dated 1953)
Condition: good overall condition for its age, with normal signs of conservation and use.
A decorative piece with great presence, history and charm for any collection related to the world of horses.
