Sigma 70-300mm 1:4-5.6 APO Macro Camera lens

SIGMA APO 70-300mm F4-5.6 D MACRO — Nikon F Mount Hello from Japan! We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world. IMPORTANT — Please read carefully: The rear element of this lens has heavy haze. This produces a noticeable soft-focus effect in your images. Some photographers enjoy this dreamy rendering as a creative characteristic, but it is a defect, and the lens will not deliver the sharpness of a clear example. Please bid with this clearly in mind. About this lens The Sigma APO 70-300mm F4-5.6 D Macro is a compact telephoto zoom from Sigma's "D" generation for the Nikon F mount — the version that precedes the later DG model. It carries the APO designation, indicating the use of Special Low Dispersion (SLD) glass to suppress chromatic aberration across the zoom range. A NORMAL / FULL macro switch enables close focusing in the 200-300mm range, with a maximum magnification of 1:2 at the 300mm setting, making it versatile for both telephoto and close-up work. Made in Japan. This is the earlier "D" (distance-encoder) version, which retains a mechanical aperture ring — unlike the later DG version. IMPORTANT — Autofocus compatibility: This is a screw-drive autofocus lens with NO built-in focus motor. Autofocus requires a Nikon body that has a built-in AF motor (screw drive). On Nikon DSLRs that lack an internal motor — including the D40, D40x, D60, and the D3000-D3500 and D5000-D5600 series — autofocus will NOT operate, and the lens can be used in manual focus only. It autofocuses normally on bodies that have a built-in motor (for example, the D7000 series and higher, and Nikon AF film bodies). Please confirm your camera's compatibility before bidding. Condition: USED — Fair Pre-owned, functional but has noticeable optical flaws (see Known Issues below). Serial Number Please check the photo. Appearance Some scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details. Optical Condition Haze: Heavy (rear element only) Fungus: No Scratch: No Balsam separation: No Dust: Some Note: The rear-element haze produces a soft-focus effect in images. Functional Autofocus and manual focus both operate properly (on bodies with a built-in AF motor). The zoom ring and focus ring both move smoothly. The aperture blades are clean and move properly. Known Issues The rear element has heavy haze. This causes a soft-focus effect, with reduced contrast and sharpness in your images. The lens is fully functional mechanically, and both AF and MF work, but optically it does not perform as a clear, defect-free example. Professional cleaning may improve clarity, but results cannot be guaranteed given the nature of the haze. We have graded this lens Fair for this reason. Bundled Items Only the items shown in the photos are included. Accessories such as lens caps are NOT included. Important Notes for Used Items As this is a used item, subtle imperfections may exist that are not individually described.
