Museale Vuistbijl / Schrabber van Groene Jaspis – Ténéré-cultuur (Kiffian) – ca. 5200 - 2500 v.Chr.
Beschrijving: een uitzonderlijk fraai prehistorisch artefact uit de Zuidelijke Sahara (Niger), daterend uit het Holoceen subpluviaal (de "Groene Sahara"-periode).
Dit stuk is toe te schrijven aan de nomadische jager-verzamelaars van de Kiffian / Ténéré-cultuur (ca. 5200 – 2500 v.Chr.)
Het object is tweezijdig bewerkt (bifacial) en diende als vuistbijl, grote schrabber of multifunctioneel snijwerktuig. Wat dit stuk écht bijzonder maakt, is het materiaal: het is vervaardigd uit de iconische en zeer gezochte groene jaspis. Deze specifieke steensoort werd door prehistorische ambachtslieden in de Ténéré-woestijn geselecteerd vanwege de extreme hardheid en de esthetische, diepgroene kleur.H
Het artefact toont prachtige, scherpe slagbulten en vakkundig drukwerk (flake scars) over het gehele oppervlak. Een uniek verzamelstuk in een uitstekende, 100% originele staat.
