Description from the seller
PHILIPS CDF 100 Photo CD Player
Equipped with the exceptional PHILIPS CDM9 mechanism
Vintage Collector exclusively on CATAWIKI
Excellent condition complete with accessories and documentation in its original packaging.
Cult 1993 model, AWARD IF DESIGN 1993, developed in collaboration with Kodak for the audiovisual sector.
In the 1990s, before computer CD writers became common, digital storage of photographs was the prerogative of professional photographers due to the high cost of equipment.
This device not only played standard audio CDs and CD-R audio, but also displayed photographs prepared by the photographer on digital media.
This device, like all early creations, was designed with particular care and built with first-rate materials: a double-sided shielded printed circuit board with carefully selected components, separate power supplies, etc.
And especially for its memorable mechanism, the famous PHILIPS CDM9 with magnetic drive, also found in high-end players such as Arcam, Audiolab, Burmester, Krell, Micromega, Marantz, Mission, Naim, Quad, Rotel…
