Biography:

Kobalt, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the journey of a versatile artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present through his father, a draftsman, Kobalt discovers very early his first passion, music creation. This passion guides him in his youth, and his precocious talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to fund his higher education in creating his first album. Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the anticipated success, but it marks the beginning of a rich artistic career full of experimentation.

Alongside his musical career, Kobalt enters the world of advertising as a copywriter for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he dedicates his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Kobalt makes a radical choice to sell his agency in order to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who had become a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art, Kobalt stands out with nearly 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

His artistic approach is marked by the bold use of humor, provocation, and anachronisms, with a particular penchant for reworking magazine covers, a style that makes him instantly recognizable.

Despite the digital era, Kobalt has chosen to stay off social media, preserving a certain privacy. Today, he uses all available digital tools to bring his creations to life, continuing to push the boundaries of artistic expression with a subtle blend of inspiration, innovation, and humor.
