Cuckoo clock - Antique Wood - 1920-1930

Beautiful classic original Black Forest cuckoo clock (circa 1920/1940). Richly hand-carved in traditional foliate motif with a bird-beak crown. A characterful and authentic piece with a handsome dark patina and many original details preserved.

With its age, the mechanism deserves some attention and adjustment to function again fully, optimally, and durably. The clock runs, but not for long. It strikes as it should, and the cuckoo comes out, but needs a little help to come back inside; an aging spring is the cause. Furthermore, the case shows some old, inactive woodworm traces that underscore the character and history of the piece.
