A superb example of German high end design audio engineering from the early 1970s: the iconic SABA RCR 352 H radio cassette recorder, manufactured in Villingen, West Germany.
Combining a portable FM/MW radio with an integrated cassette recorder, this model perfectly reflects the clean, functional aesthetics that made German industrial design internationally admired during the era.
With its brushed aluminium side panels, minimalist black front, large integrated carrying handle and elegant control layout, the RCR 352 H is a striking piece of vintage design as well as a fully functional audio device. Produced between 1972 and 1976, the model features a superheterodyne receiver with 12 transistors and 2 integrated circuits, making it one of SABA's more sophisticated portable recorders of the period.
This example has been tested and is fully working. The radio receives FM and MW stations correctly and the cassette recorder functions as intended. The battery compartment is exceptionally clean and free from corrosion. The unit presents in excellent, near-mint condition with only minimal signs of age-related use.
The recorder can be operated via the included 220V mains cable or by six 1.5V batteries for portable use. Additional recording and external audio connections are present, making it a versatile period audio device.
