Original poster from the early 1990s of the legendary (and most extravagant!) club night of Club RoXY in Amsterdam; the Loveball parties. Conserved from the private archive of one of the founders of Club RoXY.
The design is by Gert Dumbar (Studio Dumbar), the leading Dutch graphic design agency that at that time was responsible for a large part of the visual identity of RoXY and Loveball.
Loveball posters are regarded as key works within Dutch graphic design history and are included in various museum and archive collections.
The poster is characterized by the iconic pink-orange gradient, playful-clean typography and the conceptual use of hearts as a visual and substantive motif. The sponsor list is designed as a love declaration, typical for the ironic, free and inclusive spirit of the Loveball evenings.
