Description from the seller
In 1952 Leitz introduced an improved shutter for its screw Leica cameras. This lightweight shutter features the characteristic red contact numbers for the flash setting, and the shutter has a shortest time of 1/50 sec for electronic flash. The first batch for the IIIf cameras begins at 615001 and ends at 650000.
The offered body with serial number 639281 comes from this first production.
Technically, the body is in excellent condition. Beautifully running shutter with good cloth. High-contrast and accurate rangefinder. Smooth film transport.
Appearance-wise, the camera is handsome. No dents or impact damage. Minimal signs of use on the chrome. The top plate looks nearly new. The base plate has slightly more marks, as with the tripod socket (see photo).
The vulcanite is complete and unbroken. The strap lugs are nice and free of strap wear.
The body is offered with two Leica cassettes and a folder 8664 from 1954 in German about the Leica System. This is the first folder in which the Leica M3 is listed, too.
Nice classic Leica set.
PM. Not tested with film; lens not included
WE WILL SHIP VIA UPS OUT OF NL AND DO NOT USE ANY CHEAP CARRIER LIKE OTHER SELLERS DO.
