Description from the seller

Two rare candle holders / lanterns, design probably by Marianne Brandt around 1929-1932, likely for the Ruppelwerke, Gotha / Germany.

Reduced construction with a round base plate made of mint-green painted metal, curved pedestal, as lanterns with a pierced, ornately worked finial. Dimensions: each about 27 cm high, diameter about 12 cm.

Marianne Brandt (born October 1, 1893 in Chemnitz, died June 18, 1983 in Kirchberg) was a German designer, photographer, painter and sculptor. At the metal workshop she worked as a designer and is one of the less well-known female Bauhaus artists.

Aging condition, with signs of wear (scratches, rubbing, occasional light residues, oxidation traces, occasional minor (paint) losses, rare small deformations. See also the photos. These are part of the item description.
