Description from the seller
This Beetle is being auctioned without a minimum price! That means the highest bidder becomes the owner of this beautiful vehicle!
GENERAL
A gorgeous Volkswagen Beetle 1200 from 1972, finished in a very attractive and well-kept condition. It is a beloved variant of the classic Beetle, equipped with several details that make these models particularly sought after by enthusiasts. For example, the car features the repainted steel dashboard, lovely chrome round bumpers, and the characteristic small taillights. This combination gives the car the classic look that many collectors and Volkswagen enthusiasts seek.
This Beetle was newly delivered in the Netherlands in 1972 and has remained in the Netherlands ever since. During trips the car regularly receives positive reactions and compliments from passersby. A Volkswagen Beetle remains a friendly presence, but this example stands out even more due to its well-presented condition.
BODYWORK & PAINTWORK
The bodywork presents itself very neatly and the car gives a well-kept impression all around. The classic lines of the Beetle are brilliantly showcased and give the car an appealing appearance.
The paint has a nice shine and suits the overall condition of the car. As with many classics that have been restored or repainted in the past, a closer inspection reveals some minor imperfections in the preparatory work. These are less noticeable in everyday use and do not detract from the attractive presentation of the car.
The left door closes a little less tightly than the other body parts. The future owner can optimize this if desired and deemed necessary.
The car is honestly and extensively photographed so that interested parties can form a good impression of its condition.
TECHNICAL
The reliable 1200 cc air-cooled boxer engine with 34 hp starts very easily and runs smoothly.
The car drives nicely and offers exactly the characteristic driving experience for which the Volkswagen Beetle has been valued for decades. Engine, transmission and controls feel familiar and make every drive a relaxed experience.
Thanks to its simple and robust technology, the Beetle remains one of the most beloved classics for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
INTERIOR
The interior is in very well-kept condition and complements the car’s appearance nicely.
The Beetle is equipped with a beautiful black faux leather (skai) interior that excellently emphasizes the model’s classic atmosphere. Dashboard, upholstery and other details form a cohesive, attractive whole and contribute to the driving enjoyment.
Beautiful classic radio mounted, these we have never tested.
The interior shows that the car has been well maintained and reinforces the well-kept impression the vehicle presents as a whole.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
