Rectangular double‑slab coffee table in Altuglas/Plexiglas with two glass levels, designed by Marc Micoud in France circa 1980–1990, dimensions 138 cm × 68 cm × 35 cm, signed on the belt, in good condition with minimal wear and light micro-scratches.
Description from the seller
An architectural piece of rare elegance, signed by the French designer Marc Micoud. A true immaterial sculpture, this rectangular coffee table stands out with its pure lines and cut corners characteristic of luxurious 1980s design.
The load-bearing structure is entirely made of Altuglas of exceptional thickness (material often referred to internationally as Lucite), offering a fascinating play of transparency and light. It accommodates two large stacked glass tops (length 138 cm), ideal for displaying art books on the lower level, while keeping the upper surface clear for reception.
If Marc Micoud's biography remains discreet, the quality of execution of this piece speaks for itself. The designer's signature, elegantly engraved in cursive on the table's belt, guarantees its authenticity and its status as a sought-after edition piece.
A spectacular table, perfect for visually lightening the space of a large living room while adding a strong vintage signature.
Condition State and Details.
Condition: Good.
Condition Details: The table is in good overall condition. The Plexiglas surface has been cleaned and refreshed by us. As it is a vintage piece, it shows normal signs of use (fine micro-scratches). As is often the case with the thick Altuglas structures from this era, there is a faint internal frost-like effect (micro-stress cracks) in one spot: this characteristic is typical of the natural aging of this noble material, attesting to its era and authenticity without compromising its structural solidity. The glass tops are in very good condition.
