Description from the seller
Four French key-shaped corkscrews, circa 1950–1960.
Beautiful set of four decorative key-shaped corkscrews from France, manufactured in the 1950s–1960s. These distinctive bar accessories combine the form of an antique skeleton key with a hidden corkscrew. By removing the key's housing, the spiral is revealed, making the piece both functional and decorative.
The set consists of four different models, each with its own ornamentation: grape clusters and wine leaves, Rocaille- and Art Nouveau influences, and elegant openwork embellishments. Executed in brass and patinated metal, with a fine vintage look that suits a wine cellar, bar, or a collection of corkscrews.
Key-shaped corkscrews became particularly popular in the postwar period as corporate gifts and souvenirs for wine lovers. This type was mass-produced across Europe from the 1950s and is today loved by collectors of corkscrews and wine memorabilia.
