ARI-49 handheld induction anemometer from the USSR, dating to 1960, complete with wooden transport case, manual, certificate and accessories, in good condition and fully functional.
Description from the seller
Complete Soviet scientific measuring instrument set with original wooden transport case, manual, certificate and accessories. USSR, 1960.
Fully functional
A rare and highly atmospheric Soviet scientific instrument set: an original ARI-49 handheld induction anemometer, used for measuring air flow and wind speed.
This is a particularly attractive collector’s lot because it is preserved not only as a single instrument, but as a complete original set. The lot includes the anemometer itself, its original wooden transport/storage case, instruction manual, technical certificate and accessories shown in the photographs.
According to the original document included with the set, the instrument dates to 1960. The documentation also refers to GOST 7193-54, confirming the Soviet technical standard under which this type of instrument was produced.
The ARI-49 is a professional Soviet measuring device with a very distinctive industrial design: rotating cups, cylindrical handle attachment, visible measuring scale and the model marking “АРИ-49” on the instrument. It was intended for practical technical, industrial, laboratory or meteorological use, making it a strong object for collectors of scientific instruments and Soviet technical history.
The original wooden case is an important part of the lot. It has a utilitarian Soviet industrial appearance, with metal fittings, aged painted surface, carrying strap, internal compartments and the original maker’s plate on the front. Together with the instrument and documents, it creates a very complete and display-worthy Cold War-era scientific set.
Included in the lot:
* Soviet ARI-49 handheld induction anemometer
* Original wooden transport/storage case
* Original instruction manual
* Original technical certificate / document
* Original accessories shown in the photographs
Markings and documentation:
* Model: ARI-49 / АРИ-49
* Country: USSR / Soviet Union

* Standard mentioned in the document: GOST 7193-54
* Original Soviet factory / maker’s plate on the wooden case
Condition:
Good vintage condition, with natural signs of age, use and storage. - Fully functional
The instrument has age-related patina, small marks and wear consistent with an original technical object of this period. The wooden case shows visible wear to the paint, edges, metal fittings and carrying strap, which adds to its authentic industrial character. The paper documents show folds, yellowing and handling marks due to age.
Please carefully review all photographs, as they are an important part of the description and show the actual condition, completeness and details of the set.
**Collector’s Note:**
Complete Soviet scientific instrument sets with their original case, accessories and documentation are becoming increasingly difficult to find. This ARI-49 anemometer is a strong display piece for collectors of antique scientific instruments, Soviet industrial design, meteorological equipment, technical history and Cold War-era objects.
The presence of the original dated document from 1960 makes this lot especially appealing, as it gives the object a clear historical and technical context.
