Description from the seller
Raúl Sango (1924-1998) - Spanish Contemporary School - Botanical Burst: Wild Flora in Motion
Raúl Sango is an artist fully established in the Spanish visual panorama of the second half of the 20th century. He developed much of his career between Barcelona, the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, forging an unmistakable style based on material and gestural expressionism. His work, referenced in foundational publications such as the Ràfols Dictionary, is characterized by a constant quest for visual rhythm through texture.
This original piece is a masterful testimony of his plastic language. The composition presents us with a botanical eruption of bundles and wild flora, where the artist discards academic realism in favor of the pure vital energy of growth. The technical execution is outstanding: Sango uses quick strokes, vigorous impastos, and spatula application to create a textured, almost three-dimensional surface. The vibrant color palette, dominated by acidic greens that contrast with earthy touches and bright yellows, endows the work with exceptional freshness and dynamism.
In today’s market, works of organic abstraction with this level of texture and color presence are highly sought after by international collectors and interior designers. It is an excellent investment opportunity to acquire a rhythmic, visually magnetic piece signed by an author with a recognized career.
