Description from the seller
I have met Dieter Rams at Helsinki Design Conference in 1981 and admired his early work. I have acquired this SK 6 model some 18 years ago. It is obvious that Apple design with Hartmuth Esslinger and later John Ives have been inspired by Dieter Rams designs.
At the time of purchase the radio worked, but poorly. Over the years I have been able to find old professionals to repair it to full functionality. All tubes and other failed components have been replaced with similar timely ones. Now all three wavelengths are audible with in built - but sound clear with good external antenna.
It took me several years to locate a professional who was willing and able to repair the mechanics of the record player, This succeeded a year ago and everything now works accurately with all four speeds. The two diamond needles pickup was also replaced with a new one.
For interested buyers I have available a video sample of the working product playing an LP record, which I was unable to download here.
Specifications :
Chassis RC4. Wavebands: LW,MW,UKW. Record speeds: 16, 33, 45, 78 rpm. Tubes: ECC85, EF 89, EBF 89, ECC 83, EL 95 X 2. Output power. app. 4 watts. Speaker 26 x 17 cm elliptical permanent-magnet speaker. Voltage 110-240 V AC
