Qianlong period Chinese porcelain dish titled Schotel wagenwiel, 29 cm in diameter and 4 cm high, in good condition with minor signs of aging, small chips on the underside of the stand ring, and a superb glaze.
Description from the seller
Beautiful adorned dish. No restorations, no damage. Only small chips on the underside of the stand ring. Super lovely glaze.
The dish, also called a wagon wheel, is Chinese porcelain. The central round disc-shaped portion is domed (the back is hollow). Decorated in underglaze blue. On the flat surface, the domed portion, bordered by a scalloped line, is entirely filled with a lattice pattern, in which a fan over a makimono is carved out. The makimono is decorated with a blossom branch, the fan with a landscape. Above the fan a fragment of a flower vase and two scrolls. On the flat and partly on the wall are four flower groups. Twice a flower vase and two scrolls on a stand. The flower vase is filled with lotus blossoms and flanked by chrysanthemum branches and bamboo. Twice a flower vase with lotus blossom slid behind an ornament and flanked by peony branches and by lilies. On the rim, hanging fruit branches from the lip edge, rosette fragments, etc., interrupted by two makimonos and by two fan-shaped compartments. The makimonos filled with a landscape. Back: four leaf branches.
