Legnano was founded in 1902 with the brand 'Lignon' which would later become Legnano. In 1908 management passed to Emilio Bozzi, who already owned the Frejus and Perla brands. In the 1940s and 1950s it was Bianchi's fiercest rival. The greatest champions rode Legnano: Binda (three world championships), L. Guerra, Gino Bartali. Fausto Coppi at the beginning of his career. Ercole Baldini. The bike shown is a LEGNANO ROMA from 1952 with frame serial number DE0425 and has been restored with particular care to preserve the originality of the color. It is fitted with a Campagnolo Gran Sport 10-speed groupset. Simplex crankset with Legnano-marked crankarms. Universal Extra brakes and brake levers, patent 453949. Handlebar stem GARA in iron. Sella in pelle ITALIA Regis.39024 with flat seatpost bolt. Campagnolo pedals with leather straps. Wheels 64 cm with Vittoria Rally tubulars 23-28". Horizontal height 56 cm, vertical height 54 cm. The Legnano crest with Alberto da Giussano is original and riveted. Weight 11,200 kg.
