Small wall-mounted console / wall shelf in Baroque style – Carved and gilded wood – Italy – Second half of the 20th century
Elegant and refined small wall-mounted console (shelf) in the full Florentine Baroque style. The piece is entirely made in wood, skillfully carved with motifs of volutes, scrolls and acanthus leaves, with a contoured and undulating silhouette of strong visual impact. The finish is in antique gold leaf, enriched by a splendid dark patina brushed into the crevices of the carving to enhance depth and simulate the wear of time (antique “mecca” effect). The upper surface features a dark contrasting coloration that highlights the gilding underneath.
Ideal as a decorative element for entrances or classical living rooms, perfect as a catch-all or as a display base for small art objects, table clocks or vases. On the back there are already hooks or holes for secure wall mounting.
