Title of artwork: Torso Gaddi; a sculpture in marble powder from Italy, dated to the II century BC, unsigned, dimensions 36 cm high by 18 cm wide by 15 cm deep, weight 3.1 kg, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Powder marble sculpture depicting the Gaddi torso, fragment of a marble sculpture datable to the 2nd century BC and today conserved in the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence. It is probably part of the statue of a centaur, which had his hands tied behind his back.
The bust, youthful and athletic, twists in the attempt to free itself from the tightness of the bonds.
Academic professional sculpture, completely handmade by professional artisans. A piece from a museum plaster cast collection. The workmanship has very ancient origins, and is carried out entirely by hand by artists in the sculptural sector, made with materials such as scagliola and Carrara marble powder.
The indicated dimensions are understood to include the base, if present.
Shipping is entrusted to a packaging company (professional packaging).
