Today in the auction we offer you
A new, unused iconic winged corkscrew “Anna G.” (model AAM01) from the Italian brand Alessi.
This world-famous kitchen accessory was designed in 1994 by the renowned Italian architect and designer Alessandro Mendini.
The smiling face of the character is an ironic homage to the real woman (the designer’s partner), and the raised arms of the lever recall the movements of a ballerina
.Key product features
Material: The body is made of thermoplastic resin (in this case black), while the head and arms are made of a shiny, chromed zinc alloy (zamak).
Mechanism: Classic butterfly/wing corkscrew. Screwing the spiral causes the doll’s arms to rise, and lowering them effortlessly pulls the cork from the bottle.
Dimensions: Height is about 24.5 cm, and the base diameter is 7 cm.
This corkscrew is regarded as one of the most important examples of Italian utilitarian design and has become a true bestseller and a collectible item
