Description from the seller
Royal Delft – Large hand-painted glazed ceramic covered vase in “Delfts Blauw” — 1960s
Important covered vase in artistic ceramic finely hand-painted, produced by the historic Dutch manufactory Royal Delft, a reference point in traditional Delfts Blauw production.
This is a piece of great visual impact, characterized by a monumental form with a fluted, embossed body and a strong decorative presence. The original lid, perfectly consistent and well-proportioned, completes the work, giving it balance and aesthetic value.
The decoration, entirely handmade in cobalt blue on white glaze, features a rich floral motif inspired by classical Dutch design, developed with great density and compositional harmony. The pictorial quality and depth of the shades highlight the artisanal mastery typical of mid-20th-century production.
The base bears the original marks of the manufactory, including the historic logo, the decorator’s initials, and model number, essential elements for traceability and authenticity of the piece.
There are also initials engraved on the base, another sign of manual workmanship and artisanal attention in the production.
