Description from the seller
Antique foldable Corona 3 typewriter – ca. 1920 – original & complete mechanism
Very fine and iconic Corona 3 “Folding” portable typewriter from around 1920, with serial number 395587.
This famous foldable model is regarded as one of the first truly portable typewriters and is today highly prized by collectors.
The machine is in beautiful original condition with clear “Corona” lettering and attractive patina matching the age of over 100 years.
Features:
Original foldable construction
Keys, carriage and hammers move
Machine folds in and out properly.
Classic black enamel with ivory-colored keys
Serial number: 395587
Not fully tested:
There is currently no ribbon in the machine. Modern plastic spools are usually too large for this model; normally new ribbon is transferred onto the original metal spools, which are not present.
Therefore the typing function has not been tested for print quality.
Visually a beautiful collectible and decorative piece, but also interesting for restoration or further technical inspection.
No case included.
Will be carefully packed and shipped insured.
