A GENTLEMAN'S STERLING SILVER-MOUNTED WALKING CANE LONDON, 1920
The rounded sterling silver knop handle embossed with scrolling foliate ornament in relief, bearing clear London hallmarks for 1920. Mounted on a tapering hardwood shaft of dark tone with visible natural grain.
The silver mount is decorated with finely executed repoussé foliage of flowing form, retaining good definition and a mellow patina. The hardwood shaft displays an attractive surface character acquired through age and use.
General wear commensurate with age and use. The silver mount with light scratching and minor surface wear. The hardwood shaft straight and stable, with expected age-related marks. Later rubber ferrule. Overall well preserved.
