LEGO Set - 75347 - Star Wars - TIE Bomber

The LEGO Star Wars TIE Bomber (set 75347) was released in January 2023.

For those who follow Star Wars sets from the Original Trilogy: this is the first new TIE Bomber playset in about twenty years. It took twenty years before another LEGO Star Wars TIE Bomber playset appeared after the 2003 version. The 2023 edition, with current parts, is considerably more detailed than the old version, and the model is based on The Empire Strikes Back.

The set consists of 625 pieces and includes three unique minifigures: Darth Vader, Vice Admiral Rae Sloane, a TIE Bomber Pilot. There is also a Gonk Droid. The design comes from LEGO designer Hans Burkhard Schlömer.

As for the model itself: a brick-built TIE Bomber with an opening cockpit for the pilot, a bomb bay with a release function for the torpedoes, and two stud shooters. Additionally, there is a small cart to transport the torpedoes to the craft.

It is a playable model, but because of the minifigures and the fact that a new TIE Bomber took so long to appear, the set also fits well in the collection of those who collect the Imperial fleet.
