Brass pharmacist’s weight set (Ottone fuso) from circa 1850–1900, featuring four weighing cups and a doser with a hinged lid and 1 M mark, in good condition with signs of age.
Description from the seller
Brass cup-weight set from the late 19th century. Measures 5 cm in diameter, a height of 5.5 cm, and a weight of 440 g. This instrument was historically used by pharmacists to weigh medicinal ingredients and was used in pharmacies until the 19th century. The design features a main container with a hinged lid and a locking clasp; the smallest weight is missing.
This weight set includes 4 cups and a dispenser, and bears the marking 1 M on the top.
The set is in good vintage condition considering its age; please view the photos.
Despite signs of wear that attest to its passage of time, and the absence of the small weight, this object remains a splendid testament to the past and at the same time a valuable antique decorative and collectible item, with an original antique patina.
Shipping will be fast and insured for the full value. The photos are an integral part of the description. We do not ship outside Europe. At the end of the auction please check the messages center where you will receive photos of the packaging and instructions for receipt.
