Description from the seller

Episcopal ciborium in vermeil silver richly adorned with amethyst cabochons set in bezels, arranged on the cover, the knot and the foot. The inner cup is entirely gilded according to liturgical use. The domed cover is surmounted by a trilobed Latin cross.

The knot and the foot repeat a rhythmical motif of amethysts in polylobed frames, evoking the episcopal symbolism of liturgical violet.

Below the base there is an engraved inscription bearing “Monseigneur de Grammont,” indicating an episcopal destination.

Pounds/marks:
– Master goldsmith Edmond Lesage, Paris (lozenge EL)
– Minerva, 1st title (950‰)

Height: 26 cm
Weight: 563 g

Very good overall condition, slight vermeil wear. Amethysts intact.

Parisian workmanship of high quality, late 19th century.

The photos are an integral part of the description of the objects and complement their presentation. They allow you to appreciate their condition and features. Please examine them carefully before any bidding.

The object will be carefully packed and shipped with a tracking number to ensure rapid and secure delivery.
