Description from the seller

Wooden mask of “nalindele”, raffia hat, covered with burlap and adorned with an abundant wig of plant fibers, rows of glass beads at the parting, scarifications “chijingo” on the forehead and cheeks, “mupila” near the eyes.
The light complexion, rejected by some in favor of darker tones, evidently corresponds to an ideal of beauty promoted by certain sculptors and their audience.
This mask appears in the Zemanek sale of May 26, 2013. Lot No. 440. (See the last two photos)
Sold without the base.
