Giennadij Pitsko – Visual artist of Polish origin, born in 1970. In 1991 he graduated from an artistic high school in the ceramics department. Since 1991 he has been engaged in painting and ceramics. Since 1992 he has been involved in various artistic projects. His works are vibrant stories about what surrounds him. Giennadij Pitsko’s dynamic painting stands out for warm, lively, and saturated colors, an atmosphere of fantasy and the spectacular presence of women, as well as the ability to manipulate the texture of paint applied with a spatula on canvas. The artist uses brush and spatula. Pitsko’s painting is highly recognizable due to its distinctive color palette, reflecting his fascination with French artists such as Claude Monet and Amadeo Modigliani. Twenty years ago in Sopot, he saw an exhibition by Jerzy Dudy-Gracz and fell in love with working with spatulas at first sight. Since then he has consistently worked in this technique. He also rejected the traditional way of depicting figures, instead drawing on the experiences of contemporary painters. Pitsko’s works are in the collections of institutions as well as private collectors and in other European countries and beyond Europe. The artist has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions and en plein air events, both individually and collectively. He currently lives and works in Rumia.
