Authentic 34 cm tall porcelain biscuit-head collectible doll from the 1910–1920 period, complete with a red brick-colour sailor/school outfit and matching beret, in very good condition and without the original box.
Description from the seller
Authentic antique collectible doll from the 1900/1915 era, ideal for curiosity cabinets or display cases of old toy collectors. Miniature sized model, sought-after height (34 cm), with undeniable period charm.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION & DETAILS:
HEAD: Biscuit-pulled porcelain, in very good apparent condition (no visible cracks). Lovely slightly open mouth revealing small sculpted teeth. Plump cheeks with a fresh complexion.
MARKING: Incision “8/0” carved at the base of the neck, indicating a miniature size that progressively decreases, typical of quality German productions (mold historically attributed to Armand Marseille, type 390 or similar).
EYES: Magnificent fixed glass eyes (not painted), dark in color, adding a great deal of depth and realism to the gaze.
WIG: Old mohair wig in blond, well-puffed, period-styled.
BODY: Elongated, slender “little girl” articulated body, made of composition and papier-mâte original. The limbs are well proportioned for this small size.
CLOTHING AND ACCESSORIES INCLUDED:
The doll is sold dressed in a superb schoolgirl/navy style outfit in brick red thick fabric, with delicate contrasting white topstitching. The outfit includes:
The sailor dress with a large collar.
The matching beret/headpiece in perfect presentation condition.
CONDITION:
Porcelain: Very good condition, no restoration visible, superb patina.
Body: Generally good condition for its age, some normal signs of wear on the plaster/composition at the joints (see photos). Internal elastic bands hold the pose correctly.
Doll sold as-is, from a private collection. Please look carefully at the numerous high-definition photos which are an integral part of the description.
