Olympus PEN EE (EL) half-frame film camera with D.Zuiko 28mm f/3.5, tested and working.

The Olympus PEN EE, introduced in 1961, brought designer Yoshihisa Maitani's revolutionary half-frame PEN concept to its simplest, most popular form. Its selenium-cell "Electric Eye" automatic exposure needs no battery, and the fixed-focus D.Zuiko 28mm f/3.5 lens makes it a true point-and-shoot. This example carries the "EL" badge of the later Easy Loading version, which simplified film loading. As a half-frame camera it gives 72 shots from a single 36-exposure roll — economical and a favourite for street photography and diptychs.
IMPORTANT — Please read carefully:
The viewfinder has fungus and haze (this affects the viewing image only, not your photos). Additionally, the deteriorated film-chamber light seals have been removed and cleaned but NOT replaced — we recommend installing fresh light seals before use. Otherwise the camera is working well.
Condition: USED — Good
Pre-owned with signs of use. The camera works well, but the viewfinder has fungus and haze, and the film-chamber light seals have been removed and not replaced (see Known Issues).

Lens: Clear, no issues affecting shooting.

Auto-exposure: The selenium meter responds and the automatic exposure reacts as it should.
Film advance and rewind: Work properly.

1. The viewfinder has fungus and haze. This affects only the view through the finder, not the recorded image, but please consider it before bidding.
2. The deteriorated original film-chamber light seals have been removed and cleaned, but new seals have NOT been installed. We recommend fitting fresh light seals before shooting to avoid possible light leaks on film.
