Militaria Auction (1946-Present)

Authentic Belgian Gendarmerie kepi from the 1960s.
It belonged to and was worn by my paternal grandfather, who enlisted in the Gendarmerie after the 1940 war, during which he was a Lieutenant of the Resistance and decorated by Dwight Eisenhower.

The kepi is in perfect condition, except for a small hole in the leather of the interior front section.

Inside, my grandfather used to stamp his assignments with an ink pad (Arlon and Guirsch, in the Belgian Luxembourg Province), which makes this specimen unique and less anonymous.

Il a appartenu et été porté par mon grand-père paternelle, qui s'est enrolé dans la Gendarmerie après la guerre 40 durant laquelle il a été Lieutenant de la Résistance et décoré par Dwight Eisenhower.

Le képi est en parfait état de conservation, mis-à-part un petit trou dans le cuir de la partie intérieure frontale.

À l'intérieur, mon grand-père avait pris l'habitude de mettre au tampon encreur ses affectations (Arlon et Guirsch, en Province du Luxembourg belge), ce qui rend cet exemplaire unique et moins anonyme.
