Description from the seller
OPERA
“Liquid Thoughts” is a work born from the idea of a mind that is full, compressed, almost at the limit. This piece makes me think of a squeezed brain, as if inside there were an accumulation of thoughts, images and tensions that can no longer stay closed. The upper part is dense, full, stratified: a mental mass made of signs that fit together, overlap, and hold energy.
For me it also represents the moment I am living in my artistic research: a phase in which I feel I have many ideas, many images and many possible directions. It’s as if I am “squeezing” the brain to bring out everything I have inside, as if the mind were caught between two invisible hands: not emptied all at once, but compressed slowly, until what had remained inside comes out. Thoughts do not explode: they ooze, they flow down one by one, like a dense material that gradually finds a way out.
The lines that descend downward are exactly this: thoughts that begin to ooze, images that find a way out, ideas that no longer stay only in the head but become a trace. I don’t see it as a collapse, but as a release: something that had accumulated and that finally begins to come out, transforming into a sign.
The signature is hidden inside the work.

ARTISTA
I am Pietro Fight, Italian visual artist, born in 1992, based in Milan. My research sits within the field of gestural abstraction, a strand of abstract art developed mainly in the second half of the 20th century, where the sign becomes an autonomous visual language: it does not describe recognizable figures, but creates rhythm, density, tension and breath within the work. My work arises from a writing of gesture made of circular modules and lattices of signs, with which I seek balance between fullness and emptiness, accumulation and suspension, intensity of the sign and zones of visual silence. I work on canvas with different techniques, layering glazes and mark-making to bring chromatic fields and the black mark into dialogue; I am interested in both a tight black-and-white, and the use of clear chromatic contrasts.
This language of mine emerged in 2020, during the Covid period, when I transformed the boredom of daily routine into a process made of repetition, rhythm and small variations. From that period also derives the signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus). The mark I draw is instantaneous and records the mechanics of my mind: even when it appears serial, it varies according to mood and the inner “noise” of the moment. For this reason, even within a repeated grammar, every trace is different and every work remains unrepeatable.
