Table knife set (12) - Steel, Horn, Silver

Superb complete set of 12 dessert or fruit knives from the late 19th - early 20th century, presented in their original fitted case.
​The knives are equipped with magnificent genuine natural horn handles, offering superb organic nuances ranging from translucent cream to dark brown.
​A major asset for collectors: each blade features two distinct hallmarks engraved on the two faces. On one side, near the handle, is the oval hallmark "VIROLE ARGENT", certifying that the ferrules finely carved with classic French motifs are made of silver. On the other side, toward the middle of the blade, is stamped the traditional cutlery mark "VÉRITABLE GARANTI T.C", a guarantee of quality and the robustness of the steel.
​The original green case is lined inside with white satin fabric, which bears the prestigious signature of the regional jeweler-watchmaker: "Delachaux, Bijoutier, Ligny-en-Barrois".

Very good condition. The horn handles are preserved. The blades show a patina of wear entirely normal and authentic for their age. The original case shows signs of aging but remains solid and functional. Please carefully examine the macro photos of the hallmarks, they are an integral part of the description.
