Ginger jar - Porcelain - Famille Rose Ginger Jar
A Chinese Famille Rose Ginger Jar, Republic Period (Early 20th Century)
A charming Chinese famille rose porcelain ginger jar dating to the early Republic period (circa 1912–1930s), decorated with a finely painted scene of a scholar and attendants in a landscape setting.
The jar is elegantly potted with a rounded globular body and painted in delicate famille rose enamels. The decoration features a scholar in blue robes accompanied by attendants, rendered with fine brushwork and lively expressions. Pink and green geometric borders encircle the shoulder and foot, adding a vibrant decorative contrast to the white porcelain ground.
The base bears an apocryphal iron-red four-character mark reading “Qianlong Nian Zhi” (Made during the Qianlong Period), a mark commonly used on Republic-period porcelain.
Its compact size makes it an attractive cabinet display piece and an excellent example of Republic-era famille rose porcelain.
Height: 9 cm
Condition: No chips, no cracks, no restoration detected. The jar is in very good antique condition with only minor age-related wear consistent with its age. Please study the photographs carefully.
