Chinese Blue and White Tea Bowl and Saucer with Cranes – Late Qing Dynasty
A charming Chinese blue and white tea bowl and saucer dating from the late Qing Dynasty (late 19th to early 20th century).
Both pieces are decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with elegant crane motifs, a traditional Chinese symbol of longevity, prosperity and good fortune. The tea bowl is painted with four cranes, while the matching saucer is decorated with five cranes, creating a pleasing and balanced composition.
The porcelain displays attractive blue tones and a glossy glaze typical of late Qing production. The crane designs are executed with confidence and character, making this a delightful example of traditional Chinese blue and white tableware.
